How to spend less without ruining the trip

  • Compare fares into Abu Dhabi and Dubai; flying into one and out of the other can be cheaper and saves backtracking.
  • Buy a multi-park Yas Island pass if you plan two or more parks; single tickets add up quickly.
  • Build your days around the free sights: the Grand Mosque, BAPS Mandir, Corniche, Heritage Village and Jubail boardwalk.
  • Avoid the Formula 1 week (4–6 December 2026), when Yas Island hotels can triple in price.
  • Stay on Yas Island if theme parks are the focus; hotels run free shuttles to the parks.
  • Use ride-hailing apps or metered taxis rather than hotel cars for short hops.

How much does an Abu Dhabi trip cost from India?

For three nights, most travellers spend ₹40,000–56,000 per person, twin sharing, including flights and the visa. Abu Dhabi's best-known sights cost little or nothing, so the budget depends mainly on your hotel and how many theme parks you add.

TierFrom, per person (3 nights, with flights)
Budget₹40,000
Mid-range₹56,000
Luxury₹1,25,000

Where the money goes

Hotels are good value outside peak weeks, especially in the city centre and on Al Maryah Island. Saadiyat's beach resorts are the premium option. Abu Dhabi bills add service charge plus tourism and municipality fees, so compare total prices rather than base rates. Compare neighbourhoods on where to stay in Abu Dhabi.

Theme parks are the swing item. One Yas Island park costs roughly ₹7,500–9,000 per person, and families who want Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World and SeaWorld should buy a multi-park pass.

Taxis cost more than in Dubai because sights are spread across islands. Budget ₹1,000–2,000 a day per person if you are not on a tour.

Free and low-cost sights carry most itineraries: the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the BAPS Hindu Mandir, the Corniche, the Heritage Village and the mangrove boardwalk. The Louvre and Qasr Al Watan cost about ₹1,500 each. See the full list on things to do in Abu Dhabi.

Peak dates that change the price

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (4–6 December 2026) and UAE National Day are the most expensive dates of the year. Christmas–New Year and Diwali week are close behind. Late January and February offer the same good weather at lower rates; see best time to visit Abu Dhabi.

Visa, forex and TCS

Most Indian passport holders need a UAE tourist visa arranged before flying; read our UAE visa guide. At about ₹24 per dirham, a ₹3,000–5,000 daily budget covers food and local transport. Carry a forex card and a little cash for small purchases.

TCS applies to overseas tour packages bought in India and is adjustable against your income tax.

Combining Abu Dhabi with Dubai? A 2 + 3 night split often costs about the same as five nights in Dubai and gives you a calmer second half.

Frequently asked questions

Is Abu Dhabi cheaper than Dubai?
Hotels in Abu Dhabi are often a little cheaper than similar ones in Dubai outside peak weeks, and many headline sights are free. Taxis cost more because the city is spread out, and theme parks are similarly priced. Overall, a three-night trip costs about the same per night as Dubai.
How much does a day at Ferrari World cost?
A one-day Ferrari World ticket costs roughly ₹7,500–8,500 per person (about AED 310–355) at the time of review, with occasional online discounts. Multi-park passes covering Warner Bros. World and SeaWorld work out cheaper per park if you plan more than one. Food inside the parks is extra and expensive.
Can I visit Abu Dhabi on a budget?
Yes. The Grand Mosque, BAPS Mandir, Corniche, Heritage Village and mangrove boardwalk are free, and the Louvre costs about ₹1,500. Stay in a 3★ hotel near the Corniche, use buses and taxis, eat at Indian restaurants in Al Markaziyah, and skip the theme parks. About ₹40,000 per person with flights is realistic.
When is Abu Dhabi most expensive?
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, 4–6 December 2026, is the most expensive time, with Yas Island and city hotels several times their usual rate. UAE National Day, Christmas–New Year and Diwali week are also expensive. Late January and February offer similar weather at lower prices.
