When to travel

October to May is the season, with clear water and calm seas. December to February is peak and busiest. March to May is hot but has excellent visibility for diving. June to September is the monsoon, when ferries are frequently cancelled and the sea is rough — we advise against it.

Entry and paperwork

No permit is needed for Indian citizens to visit the main islands, though some tribal reserve areas are entirely restricted. Ferries between islands must be booked well in advance in peak season and are weather-dependent, which is why we build a buffer into departure-day planning.
