When to travel

May to December is the cooler dry season and the best all-round window, with September to November particularly pleasant. January to March is hot, humid and the cyclone season, though the risk of a trip being affected is low and rates are at their lowest. The water is warm enough to swim year-round.

Entry and paperwork

Indian passport holders receive a free visa on arrival, typically valid for up to 60 days. Bring a confirmed return ticket, hotel booking and proof of sufficient funds. Passports should have at least six months' validity remaining.
