How to spend less without ruining the trip

  • Travel in late October, early November before Diwali, or February outside the Eid week for lower hotel rates.
  • Stay in Al Barsha, Bur Dubai or Deira near a metro station rather than Downtown; rooms cost 30–50% less.
  • Book a non-prime Burj Khalifa slot online instead of sunset or a walk-up ticket.
  • Use the metro with a Nol card for Downtown, the Marina and the souqs; cross-city taxis add up quickly.
  • Eat lunch at Indian restaurants in Karama and Bur Dubai or in mall food courts; dinners are often included on the safari and cruise.
  • Pay with a forex card loaded with dirhams and decline dynamic currency conversion at card machines.

How much does a Dubai trip cost from India?

For four nights, plan on ₹42,000–58,000 per person for most trips, twin sharing, with return flights and the visa. That covers a 3★ or 4★ hotel, the desert safari, a dhow cruise and the Burj Khalifa. Land-only packages, without flights, start at about ₹22,000 per person.

TierFrom, per person (4 nights, with flights)
Budget₹42,000
Mid-range₹58,000
Luxury₹1,30,000

Children usually cost 60–80% of an adult on land, depending on age and whether they share your bed. Flights are close to full fare for anyone over two.

What pushes the price up?

Dates matter more than hotel class. The same 4★ room can cost 40–80% more during the Dubai Shopping Festival (4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027), Christmas–New Year and Diwali week than in late October or February. Fares from Kerala also spike around Onam, Eid and the Gulf summer holidays, when expatriate families travel.

Hotel location is the other big lever. Downtown and Palm Jumeirah cost two to three times more than Al Barsha or Bur Dubai, which are on the metro and close to Indian restaurants. Compare areas on where to stay in Dubai.

Add-ons are where budgets drift: Aquaventure, Ski Dubai, the Museum of the Future and a sunset Burj Khalifa slot can together add ₹15,000–20,000 per person. Pick two or three from things to do in Dubai rather than all of them.

Visa, forex and TCS

Most Indian passport holders need a 30-day tourist visa arranged before flying; travellers with certain US, UK or EU visas or residence permits qualify for visa on arrival. The current rules are on our UAE visa guide.

At the reference rate of about ₹24 per dirham, a ₹3,000–5,000 daily budget per person covers meals, metro rides and small purchases. A forex card gives a better rate than most Indian debit cards.

TCS (tax collected at source) applies to overseas tour packages under current income-tax rules. It is collected when you pay and can be adjusted against your income tax, so treat it as a timing cost rather than an extra charge.

Gulf flight schedules were disrupted at short notice during parts of 2026. Buy travel insurance that covers cancellation and check your airline's status before paying in full.

When is Dubai cheapest?

June to September is cheapest for hotels, but the heat limits sightseeing. For a balance, aim for late October or February; see best time to visit Dubai.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Dubai trip cost for a couple from India?
A couple should budget about ₹84,000 for four nights on a budget trip and about ₹1,16,000 mid-range, including return flights from Delhi or Mumbai, visas, a hotel, the desert safari and the Burj Khalifa. Shopping is extra. Peak-season dates in December can add ₹20,000–40,000 for two.
Is ₹50,000 per person enough for Dubai?
Yes, for four nights outside peak season. ₹50,000 covers return flights, the visa, a 3★ or simple 4★ hotel, the desert safari, a dhow cruise and the Burj Khalifa, with about ₹3,000 a day for food and transport. It will be tight in late December or during Diwali, when hotels and flights cost more.
What is the cheapest month to visit Dubai from India?
Hotel rates are lowest from June to September, but the heat limits outdoor sightseeing and fares from Kerala can rise in July and August. The best value with good weather is usually late October, the first week of November and February outside the Eid week.
How much cash should I carry to Dubai?
Carry enough dirhams for small purchases, abras and tips, about AED 300–500 per person, and use a forex card for the rest. RBI rules allow up to USD 3,000 in foreign currency notes per trip, with the balance on a card. Cards are accepted almost everywhere in Dubai.
Do I pay TCS on a Dubai package?
Yes. Tax collected at source applies to overseas tour packages bought in India under current income-tax rules. It is collected at the time of payment and shows in your Form 26AS, so you can claim it against your tax liability or as a refund when you file your return.
