Our verdict
Pick Dubai if you want the cheaper, shorter trip — 4 nights start around ₹42,000 per person with flights — plus desert safari, shopping and winter sunshine from November to March. Pick Singapore if you are travelling with young children or elderly parents and value spotless public transport, Universal Studios, Sentosa and year-round weather, accepting a starting cost closer to ₹62,000 with flights.

Which costs less, Dubai or Singapore?
Dubai, by a clear margin. Return fares from Delhi or Mumbai usually run ₹18,000–28,000 for a 3–4 hour flight, and a 4-night land package in a 3★–4★ hotel with a desert safari, city tour and dhow cruise starts around ₹22,000 per person, twin sharing. With flights that is roughly ₹42,000.
Singapore fares are a little higher at ₹22,000–34,000 return, but hotels are among the most expensive in Asia: a plain 3★ room in Little India or Bugis costs SGD 180–250 a night (₹12,000–17,000). A 4-night land package with Universal Studios, Sentosa and Gardens by the Bay starts around ₹38,000, or about ₹62,000 with flights. Full breakdowns: Dubai trip cost and Singapore trip cost.
Visas: Singapore is cheaper, Dubai is quicker for some
Singapore issues e-visas through authorised agents for about ₹2,500–3,500 all-in, usually within 3–5 working days, and many are multiple-entry. The UAE tourist e-visa costs more, about ₹6,500–8,000 for 30 days, but if you already hold a valid US visa or green card, or a UK or EU visa or residence permit, you can get a visa on arrival instead. See our UAE visa guide and Singapore visa guide.
Weather decides a lot
Dubai is a winter destination. From November to March days are 24–30°C, ideal for the desert, beaches and Global Village. From June to September it crosses 40°C, sightseeing shrinks to early mornings and evenings, and you spend the trip moving between malls. Singapore is hot and humid all year, around 31°C, with sudden showers, but nothing closes, and February to April is driest. If your only free week is in May or June, Singapore is the safer choice. See when to visit Dubai.
Families, seniors and first-timers
Both are safe, clean and used to Indian families. Singapore is easier on foot: the MRT reaches the zoo, Night Safari, Sentosa and Marina Bay, so grandparents and toddlers manage without long drives. Dubai's attractions are spread out — the desert camp, Palm Jumeirah and the theme parks need taxis or tour transfers — though distances are short by Indian standards.
Children who love rides will remember Singapore's Universal Studios (about SGD 85, ₹5,800) as the highlight; teenagers often prefer Dubai's mix of dune bashing, waterparks and skydiving.
Food and shopping
Vegetarian food is a tie. Dubai's Karama and Bur Dubai have Gujarati, Rajasthani and Jain thalis; Singapore's Little India has South Indian canteens and the 24-hour Mustafa Centre. For shopping, Dubai wins on gold, electronics and the Dubai Shopping Festival from mid-December into January. Singapore's prices are close to those in Indian metros.
Can you combine Dubai and Singapore?
Only as a stopover. Dubai to Singapore is about 7 hours by air, so you could break a Singapore trip with 2 nights in Dubai, but you still pay for the UAE visa and lose most of a day. Most travellers get more from pairing Singapore with Malaysia or Bali, and Dubai with Abu Dhabi. More pairings on our compare hub.
