How to spend less without ruining the trip

  • Eat at hawker centres: a full vegetarian meal costs S$5–8 (₹350–550) against S$25–40 in a restaurant.
  • Buy attraction tickets online as dated combos; they're typically 10–20% below gate prices.
  • Stay in Bugis or Little India and use the MRT to save ₹4,000–7,000 a night on Marina Bay rates.
  • Avoid the Formula 1 weekend and late December, when hotel rates spike.
  • Lean on the free sights: the Supertree light show, Spectra, Jewel, temples and heritage districts.
  • If you're travelling light, take the MRT from Changi (about ₹170–200) instead of a ₹1,700–2,400 taxi.

How much does a Singapore trip cost from India?

A 4-night Singapore trip costs about ₹58,000–78,000 per person from India, twin sharing, including return flights. The budget figure assumes a 3-star hotel in Little India or Bugis and a handful of paid attractions; the mid-range one assumes a 4-star hotel near Marina Bay, Universal Studios, the Night Safari and Gardens by the Bay. Luxury trips on Marina Bay start around ₹1.7 lakh.

Singapore isn't cheap. Its hotels are among the most expensive in Asia, and the big attractions cost ₹3,000–6,000 each. The good news: flights are short and competitive from every Indian metro, food can be very cheap, and many of the best sights are free.

Where does the money go?

On a mid-range trip, the hotel takes about 40% of the budget, flights about 30% and attractions about 20%. Food and local transport make up the rest. That means your hotel choice moves the total more than anything else. Moving from Marina Bay to Bugis can save ₹15,000–25,000 per person over four nights, and the MRT makes the location difference small.

Visa and arrival costs

Indian passport holders need a Singapore visa, applied for through an authorised visa agent in India. The government fee is S$30 (about ₹2,000); with agent charges, expect ₹2,500–3,500 in total and 3–5 working days for processing. Every visitor also completes the free SG Arrival Card within three days before arrival. See our Singapore visa guide, or let us handle it through visa assistance.

Day-to-day spending

Budget ₹3,000–5,000 per person per day for food, the MRT, taxis and small purchases, excluding big-ticket attractions. A hawker meal costs S$5–10 (₹350–700); a sit-down vegetarian dinner in Little India S$15–25 (₹1,000–1,700). Cards and contactless payments work almost everywhere, so you'll need little cash.

TCS is added to overseas tour packages booked in India. You claim it back against your income tax when you file your return, so treat it as a temporary outflow, not a cost.

Matching the cost to a plan

Our 4-day Singapore itinerary uses three nights and starts at about ₹40,000 per person on land, mid-range. Pair it with the best time to visit Singapore to avoid peak-rate weeks, and send us an enquiry for a quote on your dates.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Singapore trip cost for a family of four from India?
For two adults and two children on a 4-night mid-range trip, budget about ₹2.3–2.8 lakh including flights, a 4-star family room, transfers and the main attractions. Children's tickets for Universal Studios and the Night Safari are roughly 25% cheaper than adult ones. Hotels may charge extra for a third bed, so check family-room rates.
Is ₹50,000 enough for a Singapore trip?
For three nights, just about, if you fly from Chennai or Bengaluru on a sale fare, stay in a budget hotel in Little India, eat at hawker centres and choose only one or two paid attractions. For four nights with Universal Studios and the Night Safari, ₹58,000–65,000 per person is more realistic.
How much forex should I carry for Singapore?
For four days, load about S$300–500 (₹20,000–34,000) per person on a forex card and carry S$50–100 in cash, assuming your hotel and attractions are prepaid. Most payments are by card, including the MRT. Shoppers heading to Mustafa or Orchard Road should budget more.
Is Singapore more expensive than Dubai?
Overall, slightly. A 4-night Singapore trip with flights starts around ₹58,000 per person against about ₹42,000 for Dubai, mostly because Singapore's hotels and visa cost more. Attraction prices are similar. Singapore's hawker food is cheaper and its public transport better, so daily spending often ends up close.
