Quick answer

The best time to visit Qatar is November to March, when Doha's highs are 22–30°C and the Corniche, Souq Waqif and desert trips to the Inland Sea are comfortable. Late November (Formula 1) and 18 December (National Day) are the busiest dates. April and October are workable shoulder months. June to September is extremely hot, so Doha then suits only short stopovers built around museums and malls.

Why November to March is the best time to visit Qatar

Doha is compact, and most visitors spend two to four days between the Museum of Islamic Art, Souq Waqif, the Corniche, Katara and a desert trip to Khor Al Adaid (the Inland Sea). All of that is outdoors or involves walking between sites. From November to March, highs of 22–30°C make it pleasant; outside that window, the heat turns Doha into an indoor city.

Month-by-month: what to expect

November to March (peak)

The best weather. Two dates matter for prices: the Qatar Grand Prix (27–29 November 2026) at Lusail, and National Day on 18 December, when the Corniche hosts a parade and fireworks. January and February are calmer and still cool, which makes them the best value in peak season. Desert camping season runs through these months.

April and October (shoulder)

Highs of 33–35°C. Museums, malls and the metro are all air-conditioned, so a short break works well if you save the souq and Corniche for evenings and do the desert early.

May to September (summer)

Highs of 39–42°C with humid nights. Doha in summer suits a one- or two-night stopover on a Qatar Airways ticket, built around the museums, Place Vendôme and Doha Festival City. Hotel rates are at their lowest.

Ramadan 2027 in Qatar

Ramadan is expected from about 8 February to 9 March 2027. Hotels serve visitors normally, while many local restaurants open only after sunset. Souq Waqif becomes lively late at night, and Garangao, a children's festival in the middle of the month, is worth seeing at Katara.

Qatar's entry rules for Indian passport holders depend on a confirmed hotel booking, and the approved booking channel matters. Read our Qatar visa guide before you pay for a hotel.

Frequently asked questions

Which month is best to visit Qatar?
January and February are the most comfortable and good value, with highs of 22–24°C. November and December have equally good weather, but the Qatar Grand Prix in late November and National Day on 18 December push hotel prices up. Avoid June to August unless you only want a short indoor stopover.
Is Doha worth a stopover in summer?
Yes, if you keep it short. From June to September highs reach 41–42°C, so plan museums, malls and the metro by day and Souq Waqif after dark. Hotels are at their cheapest. Skip the desert safari in the middle of the day; evening departures are more bearable but still hot.
When is Qatar National Day?
Qatar National Day is on 18 December every year. Expect a parade and fireworks on the Corniche, heritage events at Darb Al Saai, road closures in central Doha and busier hotels. It is a good time to see local culture, but book accommodation early and allow extra time for airport transfers.
Is Ramadan a good time to visit Qatar?
It can be. Ramadan 2027 is expected from about 8 February to 9 March, when the weather is still good. Hotels and malls work as usual, though some restaurants open only after sunset and museum hours can change. Evenings at Souq Waqif and Katara are lively. Avoid eating or drinking openly in public during daylight.
