Spend two days in Tbilisi, drive the Georgian Military Highway to Stepantsminda for one night below Mount Kazbek, return via Gudauri, and finish with Sighnaghi and a winery lunch. Mid-range land cost starts from about ₹36,000 per person, excluding flights.

Is 6 days enough for Georgia?

Yes, for the three things most Indian travellers come for: Tbilisi's old town, the mountains at Kazbegi and Kakheti's wine country. The plan uses five nights, four in Tbilisi and one in Stepantsminda, which keeps packing to a minimum.

Why stay a night in Kazbegi?

Most tours do Kazbegi as a 10–11 hour day trip. Staying over means you see Gergeti Trinity Church in late light, wake to Mount Kazbek at sunrise and split the driving across two days. It is the single change that most improves a Georgia trip, especially for parents and children.

Ways to adjust it

  • Winter (December–March): add a night in Gudauri for skiing or snow play, and keep a buffer day for road closures.
  • Eight days: add Uplistsikhe cave town, or Batumi on the Black Sea by train or flight.
  • Two countries: continue by road to Yerevan, about 5–6 hours, for a combined Georgia and Armenia trip.

What does this itinerary cost?

Mid-range land cost starts from about ₹36,000 per person, twin sharing, with 3★–4★ hotels, a private car for the Kazbegi and Kakheti days, airport transfers and breakfasts. It excludes flights, the visa, the sulphur bath, paragliding and most meals. Frequently asked questions

Is Georgia suitable for a family trip with children?
Yes. Distances are short, Tbilisi is safe and walkable, and children enjoy the cable car, sulphur baths and mountain scenery. Car seats need to be requested in advance from transfer companies. The Kazbegi overnight makes the mountain day much easier on young children.
Can I do this Georgia itinerary in winter?
Yes, and many Indian families do it for snow. Expect a white Kazbegi, skiing at Gudauri and occasional road closures at the Jvari pass after storms. Keep a buffer day and avoid scheduling the Kazbegi return on the day you fly home.
Can I add Armenia to this trip?
Yes. Drive from Tbilisi to Yerevan in about 5–6 hours via the Sadakhlo border and the Debed canyon monasteries. Add four nights for Armenia's main sights. Check visa rules for both countries, since Indian passport holders need separate permissions for each.
