Best time to visit Japan
Late March to early April brings cherry blossom — spectacular, brief and heavily booked, requiring reservations several months ahead. Late November delivers autumn colour that is arguably just as beautiful and slightly easier to arrange. May and October are pleasant and less crowded. June is the rainy season; July and August are hot and humid; winter is cold but excellent for skiing and hot springs.
