When to travel

October to March is the season across the state. The Rann Utsav runs through the winter months and is when Kutch is at its best. Gir closes during the monsoon, typically from mid-June to mid-October. April to June is very hot, though lion sightings improve as animals gather at water.

Entry and paperwork

No visa is needed for Indian citizens. Gir safari permits are limited and must be booked well in advance online — we handle this. Gujarat is a dry state; alcohol is prohibited, and permits for visitors are available under specific conditions which we can explain.
