What are the best things to do in Hong Kong?
Hong Kong is two places in one compact package: a dense, vertical harbour city on Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, and a surprisingly green outer territory of hills, islands and trails. Most visitors only see the first. Four days lets you do both: the Peak, the harbour and the markets, plus a Lantau day for the Big Buddha and one theme park.
The MTR is fast and covers almost everything, including Disneyland and the Ngong Ping cable car at Tung Chung. Buy an Octopus card at the airport and you'll rarely need a taxi.
Disneyland or Ocean Park?
Disneyland suits families with children under 10 and Disney fans. Ocean Park suits older children and adults: proper thrill rides, giant pandas and a cable car over the sea. With one day, pick one. Ocean Park's ticket is the cheaper of the two.
