Is 6 days enough for Germany?
Six days is enough for one region done properly. This plan covers Germany's south, the part most Indian travellers picture: Heidelberg's castle, the Black Forest, Munich and Neuschwanstein. It uses an open-jaw ticket, into Frankfurt and out of Munich, so you never backtrack.
Why not include Berlin?
Berlin is four and a half hours from Munich by fast train and deserves at least two days of its own. On six days it would cost you the Black Forest. If history and museums matter more than castles and countryside, spend three nights in Berlin and three in Munich instead.
How do you travel?
Trains cover everything except the Black Forest day, where connections are slow. Book ICE saver fares on the Deutsche Bahn app a few weeks ahead; they cost a fraction of walk-up prices. For families with seniors and luggage, a car with driver on day two and day three is worth the cost.
What will it cost?
Mid-range land costs start at about ₹90,000 per person, twin sharing, for five nights in 3★–4★ hotels, trains, sightseeing and meals, excluding international flights. Our Germany trip cost page has the full breakdown, with flights from Indian cities.
