When to travel

October to March is the most comfortable window across the south. The hill stations are pleasant almost year-round, though April and May can be busy with domestic visitors escaping the heat. Kerala's monsoon from June to August is dramatic and is the traditional season for Ayurvedic treatment, with rates falling substantially.

Entry and paperwork

No visa is required for Indian citizens. Some wildlife sanctuaries and hill areas have entry permits and vehicle restrictions that we arrange in advance, and a few temples restrict entry to Hindus or enforce specific dress codes, which we brief you on before travel.
