When to travel

April to June and September to October are the most pleasant, with mild temperatures and clear skies. July and August are hot and humid in Baku though the mountain areas stay comfortable. Winter is cold and windy but cheap, with snow in the northern resorts.

Entry and paperwork

Indian passport holders can apply for an ASAN e-visa online, usually issued within three working days. A passport valid for six months, a confirmed hotel booking and a return ticket are required. The process is among the simplest available to Indian travellers.
