November to February is the cool dry season and the best all-round window. March to May is hot, with April bringing Songkran — chaotic, wet and enormously good fun if you know what you are signing up for. June to October is the monsoon: rain arrives in short intense bursts, prices fall sharply and the islands are quiet. The Andaman coast and the Gulf coast have offset rainy seasons, so there is almost always a good beach option.
