Best time to visit South Africa
May to September is the dry winter and the best game viewing — sparse vegetation and animals concentrating at waterholes. It is also whale season along the Cape coast. November to March is summer, greener and hotter, better for Cape Town beaches but harder for spotting wildlife. The shoulder months of April and October balance both well.
