When to travel

October to December offers the clearest mountain views after the monsoon washes the air, and is the best window overall. March to May is warm with rhododendron blooms and good trekking. June to September is the monsoon, when mountains are frequently hidden. January and February are cold but very clear.

Entry and paperwork

Indian passport holders do not require a visa for Nepal. Valid photo identification is needed — a passport, voter ID or Aadhaar-based documentation depending on the entry point — and a passport is strongly recommended for air travel. Children require appropriate identification too.
