Uttarakhand carries India's most important Himalayan pilgrimage circuit alongside Jim Corbett's tigers, Rishikesh's rafting and hill stations that have been drawing people out of Delhi's heat for a century and a half.

Why travellers choose Uttarakhand

The Char Dham — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath — is the single most significant Himalayan pilgrimage, and we run it with helicopter, palki and pony options for those who need them.

Jim Corbett is India's oldest national park and one of the most accessible tiger reserves from Delhi, at roughly six hours by road.

Rishikesh combines serious rafting with yoga and the Ganga aarti at Triveni Ghat, which makes it work for very different kinds of traveller at once.

What not to miss in Uttarakhand

  • Char Dham circuit — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath, with helicopter options for the harder stretches.
  • Jim Corbett National Park — Dhikala and Bijrani zones for tiger, elephant and abundant birdlife.
  • Rishikesh — White-water rafting, Lakshman Jhula, yoga ashrams and the evening aarti.
  • Nainital and Mussoorie — Lake boating, ropeways and Mall Road — the classic Delhi hill escapes.
  • Auli — Skiing in winter and Himalayan panoramas from the cable car year-round.
  • Valley of Flowers — A UNESCO-listed alpine meadow in bloom, accessible only during a short monsoon window.

When to travel

The Char Dham shrines open roughly from late spring to autumn and close for winter — we confirm current opening status when planning. March to June suits hill stations and rafting. The Valley of Flowers blooms during the monsoon months. October and November are clear and beautiful. Corbett's zones have their own seasonal closures which we plan around.

Entry and paperwork

No visa or permit is needed for Indian citizens, but Char Dham travel requires registration with the state tourism authority, which we complete on your behalf. Health checks are advised for Kedarnath and Yamunotri given the altitude and the walk involved.
